CHICAGO – While working at Outsourced Services, Marek Majchrowicz, 41, was injured
operating a chain saw that during his use broke, severely and deeply cutting into his thigh just
above the knee.
Majchrowicz was awarded medical care for his thigh injury which, after surgery and physical
therapy, was eventually deemed at its maximum medical improvement.
“The problem was, Mr. Majchrowicz was still having problems with his knee even after having
been given a clean bill of health,” explains Neal Strom of Strom and Associates. “At first after
making an additional claim, Mr. Majchrowicz was denied help with medical care. That’s when
we were able to help.”
Strom and Associates reviewed medical reports and contacted Majchrowicz’s doctors to
determine the extent of the injuries to his knee. Eventually Strom and Associates deposed
Majchrowicz’s doctors, proving he had remaining damage to his knee suffered as a result of the
original chainsaw accident. Majchrowicz was in need of surgery to his injured knee.
Strom and Associates secured an award for Majchrowicz consisting of both past due and future
medical expenses for the treatment of his knee. Majchrowicz has since has knee surgery and is
rehabilitating his knee with the aid of workers’ compensation insurance, as he is receiving
weekly compensation.
