Premises Liability
Premises liability refers to a situation where an individual is injured while on someone else's property. The property may be privately or publicly owned, such as a city sidewalk. The negligence of the property owner can include failing to provide a safe walking surface or failing to warn passers-by of hidden and unforseen hazards.
This category of personal injury case commonly involves an individual who is injured while in a store due to a hazardous condition on the premises. The incident need not occur inside the store, but can also take place in a parking lot or entrance vestibule.
